A Good Day

Hiya! Did a quick fun page of all the places we visited on our day in Tokyo =)

I used a Papertrey Ink die cut with my photos and patterned paper. And then played with the little bits & pieces of the July Studio Calico kit.

Love love love the little wood veneer birdies! I had to have 2 kissing each other, next to the lovebirds in front of Tokyo Tower.

It was an awesomely packed day full of memories. And one that my feet are literally still recovering from. All worth 100% worth it!

The streak is over!!

I made a few pages, using some of these new Japan photos. I also delved into my Elmwood Park kit and just had to use my new Kelly Purkey stamps.

This is a highlight page of my trip. We did a day in Kamakura, a day in Tokyo and hopped over to Enoshima. But the real meat of this page is in the numbers.

  • It had been 3.5 years since I last saw this girl! It's hard to believe it's been that long.
  • I'm a spur of the minute girl, I booked this flight 2 weeks before I left.
  • All told it was 14 hours worth of flying to actually get to Sarah. Not my worst day of flying, but not the best either.

This was a fun kit to play with, there was some really good colors and some fun doo dads to throw around. It was a good place to start, just having come off of a mini hiatus.

Aaaahhh! It feels good to scrapbook again. Just put in a print order and ready to get those bad boys on some pages.

In Search

....of my missing mojo!

I think jet lag may have been the biggest contributing factor. I got back last Wednesday and am finally FINALLY feeling like a normal person again.

But I still haven't got it in my scrapbooking it seems. Even my Studio Calico kit is just sitting there waiting to be delved into.

And with photos like these, how can I not be in the mood to scrapbook?!

Pages to come :) Thanks for sticking around during my hiatus!

MT's best friends just had a baby. Little Anna was born last month and Uncle Tombo just got to meet her. She's so tiny! I'm assured she smells lovely, just like a new baby.

As a birthday present, I made her some onesies a la Amy Tangerine's reverse applique method. They were teeny and cute and a set of three.

And I also threw in the card I made many many months ago. I even made the onesies to match!

Mr & Mrs Card

Konichiwa! And greetings from Japan :) I'm having a wonderful time, taking plenty of photos to scrapbook and am excited to be visiting Tokyo today.

But before I go, I wanted to extend a heartfelt congratulations the new Mr. & Mrs Bestic! They were married yesterday in Ohio. MT's in the wedding and since I'm in Japan, I didn't get to go. But I made them a card instead.

I went to town with Washi for this. First using the Ampersand mask from Studio Calico as a template, then tracing it and cutting it out. I placed washi on a diagonal and kept with a gold, silver, black theme. If you haven't purchased washi in gold and silver, you're missing it out. It's divine!

Couldn't neglect the inside of course, I printed my message out on vellum and washi taped it to the inside.

I love how it turned out! It's modern but elegant too I think. Perfect for this lovely couple.

Best wishes you two, for a lifetime of love & happiness!

Cheers Card

Greetings dearest blog readers! Apologies for the lack of posting this week. I've been busy tying up lose ends in preparation for my trip.

I'm off to Japan tomorrow! To see this girl, whom I haven't seen in 3.5 years. I can't believe it's been that long! To say I'm excited is an understatement. I'm completely stoked!

I'm staying with Sarah and her husband, in Zushi on the coast. So in preparation for being a house guest, I'm coming thank you card in tow. It is of course, London themed. Our favorite :)

I've not been neglecting my envelopes lately. Stamps, Huey splatters and washi usually do the trick.

I used my favorite Studio Calico background stamp, the street map of London to set the tone, cut out a heart and used washi tape to mimic a Union Jack.

...dipped the edges in Prima Fluid Edger to soften the black and white.

...and added a stamp and tape to the inside. It's all ready for me to write my note.

Alright then, I'm off to sleep. I have nearly 24 hours worth of travel to get through tomorrow. It's a pain, but will be worth it in the end!

I'll update when I can, I have a few more gifts to share in the next few weeks.
