Famous Walls

Thursday, June 4, 2015

If you don't already know I love to travel, I don't know who's blog you've been reading :) Since so many of my pages features this trip or that one. I love me some travel scrapbooking!

But my pages aren't always "We went", "I saw", "We did". I like to mix things up and tie places together sometimes. Like I did for this page that features some of the famous walls I've visited.
I used the June Scrapbook Circle kit (which is deliciously travel themed) and the You are Here add on and stuck with a navy/red/teal color scheme.

That middle tag is a cut file from The Cut Shoppe. I ended up flipping it around so that the tag part was on the other end.
Embellishing this page was really quick and easy, just three little clusters scattered around. Each one consisting of the country name + geo tag sticker + date label + enamel shape.
I finished the page and then thought it looked a tiny bit unfinished. So I went with my go to tilted design and adhered it to a sheet of kraft cardstock. The stitching and roughing up the edges really made it feel complete.

Places you'll Go

Friday, December 5, 2014

The theme of the fall was travel. And travel I did! I made this page in October using an awesome The Cut Shoppe digital cut file.
I also pulled out some of the great travel products I buy and then rarely use! (Talked about that on the Paperclipping Roundtable a few months back) It seems they come out when I'm telling stories that are more big picture.
I punched some paper airplanes and tried to sew in a circle. I also printed my journaling out on a transparency.
I pulled one photo from each of the cities I visited in those 5 weeks. Anaheim, Palm Springs, DC, London, Glasgow, St. Andrew's, Aberdeen & Edinburgh. And I printed them as tiny instagrams all in a row.
Looking back at this page I'm  thinking "how cute, you thought you'd done a lot of traveling". And since then (and because I took forever to finish then share this page) I've been to Baton Rouge, Ohio, San Antonio, London, Hull & Basel, Switzerland.

I told you travel was the theme of the fall! I'll have to make Part 2 page for the rest of the cities. Next up I'll be in New Orleans for a day and San Antonio for Christmas. After that I'm done with traveling for a bit! Well…at least until the end of January.

Little Moments Layouts

Tuesday, November 4, 2014

Tada! Look what I made guys! Six layouts with the latest Scrapbook Circle kits. I used Little Moments, the main kit, and the Sweetness Add On for these. They were the perfect mix of fall festive and modern chic.

I'll be updating the blog throughout the month with more details about these pages. I've also decided this is going to be the month of Scrapbook Circle on the blog. I have plans to explain a bit more about the challenge schedule, the designers, my kit process and I have a bit of a RAK I'll chat more about next week.

Triangles Trend

Sunday, October 19, 2014

I had so much fun with this page. It's a pretty flat page which I'm not use to doing, but still fun. Lots going on…it's like a circus! Anyway, I blogged about it a bit more over on the Scrapbook Circle blog. Head on over there to find out more if you're so inclined.

Flock Together

Sunday, November 11, 2012

Sock Hop has been my friend. I decided to play around with my latest Studio Calico kit today. A mental gift to myself after this incredibly stressful week.

Did I tell you I'm moving? Oh, probably not since I only found out last week!! My apartment complex is being redeveloped (i.e. torn down) and we all need to be out ASAP. It's pretty terrible timing (when isn't it really) but at least I have a new apartment lined up! I'm very excited about it, just not at all excited about actually packing up and moving. I have so much stuff!!

Have any of you had to move a scrap room? Any tips or tricks would be appreciated =)

But anyway, back to my scrapbooking. Yes, I scrapbooked. And yes, I totally needed it. Plus, I completely love this page!!

I jumped on the feather trend and came up with this page about our annual Mountbatten meet up. These are some of my old flat mates and also my grad school friends. We live very far from each other, but we still try to make time to see each other at least once a year.

This year's meet up was last month in DC. We mixed it up a bit from last year and Patrick made the drive over from Connecticut.

For the page, I went a little Native American with the motif. But I completely love it. Love having the feathers dangle down from the bottom of the photo. There's 5 of us and 5 feathers to match.

But the dipped ends are what get me. I used these feathers from Anthropologie as inspiration. But I have to give Geralyn credit for spotting these and remarking what a great idea it would be to incorporate it with the wood veneer feathers in this month's kit. Why yes ma'am I do agree.

Ooookkk, back to packing and worrying about packing I go...
But hey I scrapbooked! It can't be all bad.
