Stash Bash Vol. 2

Wednesday, July 22, 2015

Hiya! I'm coming to you live from my latest toy: a brand new Macbook Pro! It's been 9 years since I last purchased a computer. It was totally time. So I splurged (quite a bit) and finally purchased the laptop I've been dreaming about. LOVE IT! I use to spend so much time waiting on my computer to catch up with me. Now it's waiting for me to catch up with it. What to do with all of this extra creative time....?!

Well this weekend, I sat down to scrapbook. I wanted to be sure to jump in on a Stash Bash challenge or two!! This is for Challenge No. 7-The Leftover Meatloaf. I used my Ms. Pacman kit because it had all of the supplies I needed to complete this challenge.

It's a just for fun page without any journaling. I don't do this very often but the title says it all. These are the 4 creatures that live in my house. I'm now thinking I should have incorporated a little house a la Ashlii Oliver! But oh, well. I like this page.
The background paper was solid white cardstock until I used a background stamp and some gray ink to create this design. I need to do this more often!
I really did have so much fun playing with this kit. Here are the three pages I made with it:

Stash Bash Vol. 1

I have two things to share today. Yesterday, I was on the Paperclipping Rountdable! It was Episode #257-The Prospect of Paper. We were chatting about shopping! I'd love it if you listened.

Secondly, I wanted to share my first layout from Stash Bash. Yay Stash Bash! We're having a party over at Simple Scrapper and I'm already having some fun. I completed Challenge #1 using the Ms. Pacman kit I assembled and also, with the help of the latest sketch from Scrapbook Circle.

I pulled this kit and that sketch and knew I wanted to use it with this photo of me and Jennifer Wilson. I was allocated 30 minutes to complete the page and I think it came together in nearly that amount of time. I spent a bit more tiding up the sewing and taping all of the rough edges to the back of the layout.

I think my favorite bit is the "hey girl" stamped on the background. I used gray ink on the kraft cardstock and really like the look! My second favorite is this medley of colors. I'm loving this combo!
Jennifer released all of the Stash Bash challenges today so I'm excited to really jump in on this this weekend! But for now at least, I've started!

Hiya! Sitting on the couch, finally watching the 3rd Season of GIRLS and balancing a kitten on my lap along with the computer. It's a gorgeously sunny day here in Houston and the BF is off at the rodeo. That's what's going on in a nutshell. And now I'm sharing the last page I made for the Simple Scrapper Stash Bash.
This was based off of one of Jennifer's fabulous Jump Starts video. I used the Studio Calico Office Hours PL kit for the page, as well as the printables and some of the awesome die cuts from this month [Brit Cut, Tea Cuts]. They were too perfect for a London themed page and also why I wanted to scrapbook these pictures.
I loved playing along in the Stash Bash. Have to confess, I didn't put even a millimeter of a dent in my crazy out of control stash, but I'm planning to.

Here's just a quick recap of the layouts I made this weekend as part of the event. I can't wait for the full one in September!

Layout No. 5! I'm really excited about how this turned out. I'm also so happy I got to use those great Kelly Purkey stamps. The embellishments have nothing to do with these photos. But they help with the theme of the page, which is all about my cousin Emily.
All of the paper I used was from my scrap drawer, and a lot left over from my Birthday Brunch page. And in case you haven't picked up this is another page for the Simple Scrapper Stash Bash.
I think I have one last layout in me. Getting back to my desk!

I think I might be most excited about this page! I finished it up last night.

Last week, I thought up this idea for a round up/title page using the always inspiring viewfinder. I have this older Two Peas digital frames cut file and knew the "You are Here" one would be perfect for it.
I printed 9 tiny photos and added them to the frames. I filled in the others with scraps of patterned paper and stuff from my SO-NEW-I-CAN'T-WAIT-TO-USE-IT drawer. This is also part of the Simple Scrapper mini-Stash Bash we're doing this week in our Facebook group.
Travel products are my absolute favorite. I used the new Amy Tangerine Tag Sticker Roll and some of the fabulous Studio Calico geotags.

Good morning! Happy Sunday =) I cranked out two more layouts last night using the Simple Scrapper Stash Bash prompts. Here's one using an older sketch from the member archive (Dec 12 for my fellow Simple Scrappers).
I finally got to use my American Crafts Triangle Punch and another of Wilna's die cut phrases. I pulled colors from the photo, which made for some odd pairings. But I like it. The journaling is throwing me off a bit but I'll deal.

Second page for the Stash Bash over at Simple Scrapper. I pulled some old product, used a new Wilna die cut file from Two Peas and a bit of modeling paste for this page about my nephew. The prompt is from last month's SS Spark Mag.

One more ticked off my list. One page to add to my scrapbook. Lots oh goodies heaped onto a page!

We're doing a mini Stash Bash over at Simple Scrappers this weekend. And I'm playing along! I'm also going full force this weekend to see how many pages I can actually make! I started at 9am this morning and already cranked out a page!

I haven't started playing along with the challenges, but I did get my muscles warmed up. I printed these photos last week and had the paper and a few embellishments picked out but I hadn't done anything with this page.

It came together so quickly, once I realized I didn't have to use the hearts as a my background paper but more as an accent.
So my goal for this weekend is to scrap and use up my stash.
Play along with the challenges and mix in my new stuff and my old stuff.

I'll be sharing my progress here today. So keep checking back!
