Water Dog

Tuesday, June 21, 2016

I finally finished the 2nd page I made using my [2016 NSD Kit]! I know, it's been nearly two whole months. But I'm not going be too hard on myself. It's done and I like it :)
The colors are my favorite part! I'm loving this combo: teal, orange, yellow, gray, brown, white! I lined all of the paper along the side to create a color block.
The title is a [cut file] from [The Cut Shoppe]. I love how versatile it is! I backed it with cardstock in the color scheme.
We were at the pool just last weekend and Dixie had a blast retrieving the ball all over again. Except this time she was twice as big!

Summertime Happiness

Friday, August 22, 2014

I have another Island Paradise page to share! This was a just for fun one using what I had leftover from the kit.

The theme is "happy". These photos just warm my heart. It had been too long since I had seen these cousins. I was so excited to get to spend some time with them…and that Christian caught a fish!
I used one of this month's cut files and a lot of the Elle's Studio journaling tags. I also hand cut some lil fishies to add to the page.
This might just be my only summer themed page I make this year. This summer has just been…well not summery. I thought I would have more time to relax and unwind. And while I did get to take some time off of work, I was still really just in recovery mode from all of the work and personal life goings on.

This fall will be just as hectic! But I'm so excited for it to start! And to continue to share projects with you all :)

Safety First/First Mutt

Monday, April 1, 2013

Are you April Fools-ing today? I do NOT take part in this "holiday". I was the victim of a very terrible April Fools joke when I was younger and am still scared! (Got a tearful/hysterical call at 9pm at night saying someone was in the hospital. They weren't. It was a not at all pleasant experience.)

But cest le vie. I want to show you something cute instead. I've finished up my LBD assignment for the month, so now I'm just playing with paper and photos.

I ordered some of the new(ish) Glitz Design Unchartered Waters line so I could scrapbook these photos of silly Cadie. I'm loving the nautical theme. I'm always on the hunt for it with all of the beach going my parents (and sometimes I) get to do. And of course I used nothing with the color blue...or green for that matter!

I used a Shimelle.com sketch as the basis for this page. I'm determined to use them all this year! I'm 5/10 so halfway there =)

Instead of one photo, I pulled three and backed each of them with a journaling card. They made for the perfect border for this tinier photo size!

I also had fun creating custom die cuts with the help of my Silhouette. I used a few Studio Calico digital brushes and cut them out of Papertrey Ink cardstock (it's a heavy weight cardstock).

Then I colored each of them differently. The gold one is spray misted. The black is painted with chalkboard ink. And the pink I inked with chalk ink.

I also mixed up the title with glitter Thickers, letter stickers and circle stickers. I couldn't decide between First Mutt & Safety First so I ended up using them both!

Mad Dash

Monday, April 12, 2010

I feel as though I'm in a mad dash to the finish line of completing Project Urijah. And if you're wondering about the mass influx of baby boy pages, or even who the baby boy is, here's the explanation. My baby nephew is turning one on the 20th of this month and I challenged myself to complete his 0-12 month album before his first birthday. I know! I know! I've set a pretty lofty goal for myself but I honestly feel as though I can get it done!

The first layout alone helped me tackle 10 random photos that might otherwise not have made it into his album. [Thanks to 2p's Weekly Challenge] These are some of my favorite photos of my favorite little guy. They just had to make it into his album! And now I think they're going to be used as his title page.

The American Crafts new Heat Wave line is just so fun and festive! Perfect for these photos of Urijah's first time in the pool. The background patterned paper, the typed journaling and the horizontal lines under the photo are all from the same sheet of 12x12 paper. Since they're double-sided they have a whole lot of milage! I didn't need much, beyond that sheet, to finish this layout.

Since the beginning of April, I've completed 10 layouts for Urijah's album. If I can create half that amount before the end of the week, I think I would consider his album complete. Here's wishing me luck!
