Ohio Ornaments

It's true. I love my Pinterest boards! I'm so visual and Pinterest is so visually awesome. I love looking at my boards, pinning projects for a later date, looking for inspiration.

I went through my boards the other day and decided to re-pin all the projects and recipes and layouts I have used [see it here]. Of the 4,003 images I've pinned, I've only used 59 of them! Doing the math fairly quickly, but that's barely more than 1%!!!

And the thing is, I love the things I pin. I want to use them. So this month and next year, I'm planning to do just that. Starting with this project:

Aren't these adorable? I loved the Pinspiration and thought these wee lil hoops would be the perfect little stocking stuffers for Matt's family. We'll be in Ohio for Christmas this year and I'll be able to hand them out (in person!) then.

I went with Ohio State colors on this one, topped off with a silver ribbon. Stocking stuffers can now be checked off the list!

History of Ever

Hi there! I'm so excited to share this double page layout with you. Because come on, look at that sweet little face =) He's getting to be such a big boy and this terrifies me. Stop getting older little one!

I LOVE how this spread turned out. LOVE! I created the left side using the arsenal of techniques I picked up from the Toolbox class. It was for the Pinterest Challenge Shanna issued and is directly inspired by these two pins: [Pin1] [Pin2]

A messy crafty watercolor-y feel was what I was going for, and I think its so awesome that you can achieve this digitally without making a total mess!

I just couldn't not enlarge this sweet photo of him. It's not the best image, it's a bit blurry and the photo quality isn't the greatest. As a quick fix, I just did a quick screen grab of a video I shot of him. He was jumping on the bed and laughing his head off at me.

I dug into my Elle's Studio Cameron collection which was so perfect for this photo. Glad his mama picked out that shirt for him to wear! The colors couldn't have worked better!

I embellished with some cork circles and glittery stars.  Plus since my printer didn't really pick up the green very well, I added some actual green ink splatters and a vellum circle sticker.

I loved both of these die cuts because they used the word "you" which is how I personalize all of my journaling to him. I always write it "u" since his name is Urijah. I covered them both up with thickers and added my journaling about this boy and his latest milestones. He's doing so awesome!

Pink & Blue

So yes, love these earrings. And most especially love the quirky-esque color combo. The bright "true" blue and the soft blush pink. Swoon!

But back blogging today with a dual purpose, 1) to share my latest project made from Pinterest inspiration and 2) to wish a tiny lady the happiest of birthdays!

Happy Birthday Mama!

I sent her this birthday card.

I used the color combo that I liked so much for the earrings, made a grid with some tape, and included all kinds of odds and ends to fill in the squares.

On the inside, I included a picture of us. (That's me when I was tiny!) And stamped a sentiment.

I hope she does celebrate today! She so totally deserves it.

Pinspiration

I'm jumping in on Studio Calico's Weekly Challenge this week. I've been meaning to do something with all of the lovely Craft Inspiration I've been collecting on Pinterest, this gave me the excuse.

I combined two images, the design from this one:

...to come up with this layout of Mama & me.

She sent me a silly card in the mail the other day. She's usually really good but it's been awhile since she's sent me a card. It made me smile :) I turned that bottom panel into a pocket for her note to slide into (forgot to take a picture!).

It was fun to create a layout from inspiration rather than another layout. I'll have to turn to my Pinterest more often, and put all of those pins to good use.
