Young Scrappers Unite Blog Hop

Yay! It's here! I've been so eagerly anticipating this hop, it isn't even funny. I think it's because I've been blog hop deprived for awhile now.

So here's the drill, if you've just stumbled across my blog or if you're a regular reader (hi!), you'll want to head back and start at Marie's Blog.

If you a part of the hop, you'll probably have just come from the lovely Stephanie's blog. (She makes completely awesome cards btw!)

And now you're here at the paperheARTproject!

Hi!! I'm so happy you're here =D that's me smiling from ear to ear!

A quick bio...
My name is Jamie, I'm a 26 year old Texan, who is currently living in Houston (boo!) but only because I love my job (yay!). All I've ever wanted to do since I was young was travel, and thank fully my job lets me do that from time to time (see I told you it was good)! I scrap a lot of travel photos and lots of pages of my adorable nephew, Urijah. Sometimes I make cards (but I don't think I'm very good). And my favorite color is yellow! Something random about me? I like to drink soda flat and room temperature =)

And now on to my page...
I think I might be most excited to share one of my favorite pages ever, with you. It couldn't not be one of my favorites, since it features all my favorite schtuff!

The color scheme is one of my favorites: browns, yellows and grays. Gray & brown, especially because you're "not suppose to" is one of my favorite combos. And I love adding the pops of yellows and teals!

The idea...
I've had the idea for this layout in my head for awhile now, and I finally got it down on paper.

It all started with a trip to Istanbul, that I took in March.
I was traveling by myself at the time and I just couldn't help thinking, "Oh Jamie, what have you got yourself into?!"

It happens nearly every time I travel, especially when I first get somewhere. But at least 95% of the time, it goes away so quickly that all I can think about is how fortunate I am to be wherever I might be at the time!

I'm really good about stepping out of my comfort zone, btw.

My favorites...
I've already mentioned that travel is one of my favorite topics, and here's what else I included on the page that is my favorite:

Washi tape! Or any paper tape really. And most especially the awesome Hambly Studios ones in all the fabulous colors.

This teal wood-grain is probably most definitely my favorite.

Another favorite, light bulbs! I collect them. I've always had this obsession with light and then I took a photography class in college and gained a whole new perspective on it. I owe Nicephore Niepce a big one, for combining two of the most wondrous things in the world, light and images. Plus they're yellow. Come. on!

And I just had to include perhaps, my most favorite sheet of patterned paper ever created! That gorgeous sheet from Crate Paper. It's a wood grain with oh so pretty cream flowers. Swoon!

Also a favorite, multi-colored baker's twine. The sets from House of Three/Pink Paislee are just gorgeous.

And finally, the words...
I created my own "twill" strip in MS Word, and added it to the bottom of the design.

I truly believe these words:
Travel often, travel far.
Live life to the fullest.
Zero regrets.
One life, just one.

Well, there you have it, my page! In all of it's Kraft/Yellow/Teal goodness.
I hope you'll find your way back to my little corner of the internet some day =)
Here's to seeing ya soon!

And thus, my moment in the spotlight has come to an end. But hop on over to Heather Ruwe's blog: Icing on the Cake!

And be sure to keep hopping and commenting ;) ;) for the chance to win some fun prizes! Oh, and the hop officially begins at noon today, so if some haven't got their posts live, be sure to come on back through. You have until Monday, 4 July at 11:59 pm CST.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

xxbesos
